What We Do

SPECS work with parents, early years services, schools and other agencies to improve outcomes for children from pregnancy through to school age by delivering a range of early intervention and prevention and parenting programmes to families in the Bray area. All of our services and parenting programmes are free of charge.

Why should I get involved?

The programmes are designed to help make family life easier. If you feel you would like to learn other ways of dealing with conflict, stress or helping your child develop and learn please contact SPECS to talk about how you can do this. SPECS provides supports to parents FREE of charge.

Pregnancy / New Parents

The Preparing For Life Home Visiting Programme is for families expecting a new baby in the Greater Bray Area. Baby massage and Parent and Baby groups are also available to new parents.

Parenting Programmes

SPECS works with a range of agencies to deliver a number of parenting programmes that help to make family life easier by finding ways of dealing with conflict, stress and parenting in general.

Early Years and Schools

SPECS works closely with local schools and early years settings to deliver mentoring supports and programmes such and Roots of Empathy. We also assist educators and children with the transitions from pre school to primary.

Preschool Class

Language Development

SPECS have a HSE Speech and Language Therapist who provides supports to local schools and early years settings through programmes aimed at improving language development.

Family Support

SPECS provides supports to parents and caregivers of school age children in group and one to one settings including Parents Plus 6-11 years.
